Core Beliefs and Values describe the principles of the Mission Statement in more detail and provide a guideline by which to achieve it.

1. Our primary responsibilities are the education, safety, and welfare of our students.
2. Students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing experience lifelong benefits from having peers and positive role models who are also deaf or hard-of-hearing.
3. A nurturing environment and a sense of belonging to a group contribute to a child’s identity, security, and positive self-esteem.
4. The staff is responsible for using effective communication skills that meet the individual needs of students.
5. Access to communication is a right for all members of the school community.
6. Education is a lifelong process. Comprehensive services from birth through adulthood are critical for cultivating vital life skills and instilling the desire for students to become independent adults and lifelong learners.
7. Hearing loss does not prevent achievement in the academic, vocational, and life skills of our students.
8. Parents, schools, and communities need to work as partners in the overall development of our students.
9. Individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing are capable of functioning in both Deaf and hearing communities.
10. Students have a right to a capable, competent, and motivated staff.
11. Students must be provided the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential.
12. Students must be offered a variety of academic, vocational, and social experiences to become successful and productive members of their communities.
13. Students have a right to learn in a safe environment where mutual respect is practiced by all.
14. We respect the various gifts and talents of all children.
