The High School includes students in grades 9-12. Satisfactory performance leads to a high school diploma. To receive a diploma, a student must complete IEP goals and objectives as mandated by the Pennsylvania State Special Education Regulations and Standards.

The goal of the High School is to assist our students in becoming independent adults who are able to access information and make good decisions based on the information they have acquired. In addition to instructing our students in basic factual information relating to each subject area, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills to enable them to live productively after they graduate from WPSD.

WPSD recognizes the importance of the transition from high school to post-secondary education, training or work. Parents, students and the local education agency are all required to work together in the planning of transitional activities for our students. In addition to coursework, students may elect to complete On the Job Training courses, job shadowing and be involved in the establishment of school-based businesses. Some students also have the opportunity to work off-campus for part of their school day. The administration of interest inventories, college testing and post-secondary counseling are provided to meet the needs of all students. Transition portfolios are developed as students move through their high school years.
