WPSD is Seeking Head Coach for the Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team

WPSD is announcing the vacancy of the Head Coach for the Girl’s Varsity Basketball program. This is a part-time and seasonal position.  Responsibilities include planning and implementing daily practices and games, teaching the concept of teamwork, sportsmanship, school pride, and respect for others, encourage sport appreciation, maintain individual and game statistics on daily basis, maintain and complete the equipment inventory, demonstrate a positive attitude as a role model, ensure that the playing environment is a healthy and safe place, attend practice and games, attend at least one coaching clinic per year, implement the Coaches and Athlete’s Handbook, meet with the coaching staff and Athletic Director on a regular basis, establish and maintain rules and expectations, communicate expectations clearly to athletes, courtesy to the players, fellow coaches, visiting teams, and referees is critical, and enforce the academic eligibility policy.

The Head Coach must have all clearances: PA State Police Criminal Clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Clearance, Act 82, and a certification of PA Mandated Reporter Training, a valid PA Driver’s License.

The Head Coach should have a broad knowledge of basketball.
