Outreach Services are provided through our CORES (Community Outreach, Resource and Educational Support) Centers.

WPSD's CORES services are available to deaf and hard-of-hearing children, youth and adults through school districts and other service providers across Pennsylvania.

Services are offered at: our Western PA office on the WPSD main campus; our regional office in Camp Hill, PA; on-site at schools, industries and organizations.

CORES provides Community Audiological and Speech Services, Educational Consultant Services, Sign Language Classes, Interpreting Services, Technical Assistance for Teachers and Staff, as well as Training, Workshops and Seminars.

The Mobile Diagnostic Unit (MDU) is available to provide audiological testing at sites throughout the state and provide hearing screenings. Schools, organizations and companies can request this service. The MDU is available at all WPSD functions (upon request).

The WPSD Mobile Resource Center (MRC) is available for conferences that are held in various cities and towns in Pennsylvania. The vehicle carries informational literature about WPSD and other issues related to deafness.

School districts, parents and Intermediate Units can contact this office to request psycho-educational evaluations and Signed Communication Proficiency Interview (SCPI) evaluations. There is a fee charged for each of these services.

Resources, consultations and other services are provided on a fee-for-service and/or cost reimbursement basis.
