Don Rhoten, WPSD superintendent, has announced a number of significant changes for the academic administrative team for the 2009-2010 school year.
Cathy Rhoten will be leaving the Principal's position at WPSD and will assume the role of Director of Statewide Programs and Evaluation. This will include overseeing the establishment of the new Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children.
Barb Goodman, currently Assistant Principal of the High School, has been selected to replace Cathy as Principal. Barb has worked at WPSD for many years and has been the assistant principal for 12 years. She will do a great job!!!
Replacing Barb in the High School will be Kevin McDonough. Kevin, who is deaf, formerly worked in the Presley Ridge program at WPSD and is currently the assistant principal at the Milwaukee’s Foster and Williams High School and Visual Arts and Communication.
Donald Mazreku will continue as assistant principal of the Middle School.
With the retirement of Assistant Principal Elaine Moore, the Lower School will split from the Children’s Center. Michael Prezioso will transfer from his current position as IEP Coordinator to become the Lower School assistant principal.
Carrie Rain will fill the position of Children’s Center Assistant Principal, on an interim basis.
Dr Nancy Benham, currently the director of the Choices for Children program, will transfer to the principal position at The Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children.
