WPSD is pleased to announce two job openings: Residential Supervisor in the Girl's Dorm and Part-Time Teacher of the Deaf in the Choices for Children Program .
The residential supervisor's duties and functions include supervising student activities during after school hours, ensuring safety and security of students and must know student's whereabouts at all times.

Residential supervisor is responsible for putting them to bed in the evening, helping students with daily living skills, for example, hygiene, toileting in some cases, dental hygiene, clothes washing, assisting with social skills, improving students sign communication skills, coordinating play activities, parties, intramural sports, report student concerns and progress to the Dean of Students, document and report accidents, behaviors, suspected abuse, etc.Qualifications: Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) must be at “Intermediate” at hire, and “Advanced” level required within two years. Must have PA State Police Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Clearance. Bachelor's Degree preferred, high school diploma required.

Part time Teacher of the Deaf for Choices for Children Program provides early intervention services to family of infants and toddlers who have a hearing loss. Services must be conducted in the family's home, daycare center or in other center-based programs. Collaborative relationships are maintained with service coordinators and EI team members from other groups. Must be able to work closely with and be sensitive to parents in a variety of settings. Must live in Central PA and be able to visit families in the Dauphin, Mifflin, Juanita, Huntingdon, Centre, Perry, and Cumberland counties. Must possess own car. Must be able to drive in all sorts of weather conditions.Qualifications: PA Teacher's Certification of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Master's Degree preferred with some experience, knowledge of curriculum for the birth to three population, sensitive to family's needs, dynamics, culture and value system. Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) for this position is “Advanced.” The minimum level accepted at hire is “Intermediate.” Must have PA Act 34 clearance, Act 151 Child Abuse clearance and FBI clearance required.
